No human being can totally ignore the hard realities that life has in store for us. It just takes one earthquake or a tsunami to realize how insignificant ‘We’ are and how inadequate all our efforts might be when tragedies strike and troubles overwhelm. As responsible members of the civilized society, the onus is on us to extend helping hands to individuals struggling to cope with their lives. We need to be sensitive to the state and the needs of our fellow beings walking the same earth and breathing the same air!

Participate or perish has become the mantra of our times. And this holds true for all walks of life. This axiom simply means that we, as individuals of the free society, have a lot to put back. This may call for our time, financial contributions or supportive gesture for those in need.

The term responsibility has many connotations. But the one recognized by HeroITES involves the heart too. HeroITIANS never fail to be a part of the societal responsibilities, participate actively and offer their bit without loosing on their official chores and responsibilities.

Last year, a group of sensitive and responsible people set out to find a way which would enable them to repay their debts to the society. The idea was to bring cheers to those who had nothing or less to celebrate life! The outcome was a unique venture and Drishti was born.

Drishti is an initiative of the people at HeroITES and aims to bring happy smiles on those faces which are now closer to us as the common bond of Humanity connects all! The ball was set rolling during the second week of May 2005 when a concentrated action plan was mooted towards community service. A group of extroverts went ahead and collected clothes which could be later distributed to the needy.. With the help of an NGO, we ensured that the entire collection reached the targeted people.

Since then, there was no looking back and the group paid several visits to the balwaris within the NCR. Successful blood donation camps are organized . The group works closely with NGOs to channelise the energy and resources to the needy. The group has helped Blind Relief association in Delhi in multiple ways.

Moving ahead with this spirit, come one and all. Let us join hands and stand united -– helping the underprivileged to the best of our capabilities!!!
