Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman

As Chairman of HeroITES, Sunil is steering the Hero Group’s foray into the BPO services industry and leading the company to a position of strength. He is also the Chairman of Hero Corporate Service Limited that is engaged in Training and Competency Building (Hero Mindmine), ERP Consulting and implementation (Munjal eSystems) and non-life Insurance distribution services (NsurePlus) besides advising the Hero Group on long term growth strategy . HeroITES is already recognized for its exceptional service quality and offers services to several Fortune 500 clients. Hero Mindmine is amongst the top three leading companies in India in the Training, Learning & Development industry.

As member of the Hero Group, Sunil is responsible for developing a growth strategy and implementing new business plans for the Hero Group. In addition, he is the Director of a number of companies in the US$ 3.19 Billion Hero Group including Hero Cycles, Munjal Showa , Sunbeam Auto, Majestic Auto, Munjal Auto Industries, and Easy Bill.

Apart from the Hero Group companies, Sunil is also on the Board of DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd., PNB Gilts Ltd. and Life Insurance Corporation of India (largest life insurance company of India). Mr. Munjal is also a member of the Advisory Board of Coca Cola, India. He has been on the Board of Bank of India (one of the largest Indian banks) as well.

In 2004-05, Sunil became the President of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India’s premier business association. He has a keen interest in the field of Education and Learning. He is member of the President’s Council of the University of Tokyo and is also on the Board of Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. He is a visiting faculty giving lectures on Business Studies and Holistic Management Practices at Business Schools and Corporate Houses. Sunil has made significant contributions to some of the national-level Economic and Labour reforms, either by chairing many of the reforms committees or as a member.

Sunil takes part in social activities and has several accolades to his credit. India Today, a leading publication, has selected him as one of the “Faces of the Millennium” for business. He is the Vice-President of the Managing Committee, Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (one of the largest Hospitals with a Medical College in Northern India ) besides being the Board Member/Director of various schools, colleges and companies. He is the former president of the Ludhiana Management Association and the president of Ludhiana Sanskritik Samagam (an organization promoting performing arts).

Sunil is a commerce graduate and has training in Mechanical Engineering. He did his schooling from Doon School, Dehradun, India.
